GREAT GREY OWL

While on a trip to Finland to photograph Brown Bears, there was a unique opportunity to photograph a nesting female Great Grey Owl. It was June, it was hot, and I had been keeping watch in the bear hide all…but this was an opportunity not to be missed! I was in a makeshift hide not much more than a metre high, and was sat on a three-legged milking stool halfway up a tree. Nobody else in the group was brave enough to climb the tree, but it meant I could capture images at eye level – well worth the effort!
