I have been to wildlife photography hides in Bourne many times, and this was my second overnight stay in the pond hide. There were no otters last time as there was too much disturbance; they were working on the railway! I had been monitoring the weather forecast and, on this visit, I was fortunate, as I had perfect conditions, a still night, some mist and some visits. I was able to experiment with flash settings – I found the front flashes quite harsh, so I was able to concentrate on back lighting and some with no flash, just the one ambient lamp. I was very happy with the results.
